RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County, Contract #25-071-5 with Public Health Foundation Enterprises, Inc., a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed $5,013,000 to provide shelter, coordinated entry, outreach and permanent supportive housing programs for County's homeless youth and adults for the period July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This contract is funded by: 45% State funds, 34% Federal funds, 15% Local grants, and 6% General Fund.

BACKGROUND:

On June 13, 2017, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #25–071-3 with Public Health Foundation Enterprises, Inc. for the provision of coordinated entry, outreach and permanent supportive housing programs for homeless youth and adults in Contra Costa County for the period from July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

Approval of Contract #25–071–5 will allow the contractor to continue to provide supportive housing services through June 30, 2019.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, County’s homeless clients will experience longer wait times for shelter and respite services.
