RECOMMENDATION(S):

ACCEPT resignation of Michael D. Collins, DECLARE a vacancy in At-Large 6 seat on the Advisory Council on Aging, and DIRECT the Clerk of the Board to post the vacancy, as recommended by the Employment and Human Services Director.

FISCAL IMPACT:

No fiscal impact.

BACKGROUND:

Mr. Collins notified Area Agency on Aging on April 12, 2018 of his resignation from the Advisory Council on Aging. Mr. Collins was appointed to the At-Large 6 seat on October 17, 2017 with an expiration date of September 30, 2018.  
  






BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
The Advisory Council on Aging (Council) provides a means for county-wide planning, cooperation, and coordination for individuals and groups interested in improving and developing services and opportunities for the older residents of Contra Costa County. The Council provides leadership and advocacy on behalf of older persons and serves as a channel of communication and information on aging.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

The Advisory Council on Aging may not be able to conduct routine business.
