RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee to execute on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #26-788-7 with Peyman Keyashian, M.D., an individual, effective July 1, 2018, to amend Contract #26-788-5 (as amended by Amendment Agreement #26-788-6), to provide additional anesthesiology services for the Labor and Delivery Unit with no change in the payment limit of $551,000, and no change in the original term of February 1, 2018 through January 31, 2019.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This amendment is funded 100% by Hospital Enterprise Fund I. (Rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

On December 5, 2017, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-788-5 (as amended by Amendment Agreement #26-788-6) with Peyman Keyashian, M.D., to provide anesthesiology services including consultation, training, administrative services, medical procedures, on-call coverage, and coverage for the General and Obstetrics Units at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Health Centers for the period February 1, 2018 through January 31, 2019.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #26-788-7 will allow the contractor to provide additional anesthesiology services for the Labor and Delivery Unit through January 31, 2019.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this amendment is not approved, the contractor will not be able to provide additional anesthesiology services for the Labor and Delivery Unit at CCRMC.
