RECOMMENDATION(S):

ACCEPT resignations of Robert Lilley and Paul Adler, DECLARE vacancies in Business Seats 9 and 12 on the Workforce Development Board of Contra Costa County, and DIRECT the Clerk of the Board to post the vacancies, as recommended by the Employment and Human Services Director.

FISCAL IMPACT:

No fiscal impact.

BACKGROUND:

Mr. Paul Adler has resigned due to employment changes and unavailability to continue to attend meetings and serve on the Board. Mr. Adler was appointed on March 29, 2016 to Business Seat 12. The seat will expire on June 30, 2020.

Mr. Robert Lilley has resigned due to the personal need to refocus on the business development of local workforce. Mr. Lilley was appointed on July 11, 2017 to Business Seat 9. The seat will expire on June 30, 2020.  
  
The Workforce Development Board of Contra Costa (WDB) is a business-led body with the mission to shape and strengthen local and regional workforce development efforts. The WDB brings together leaders from business, economic development, education, labor, community based organizations, and public agencies to align a variety of resources and organizations to enhance the competitiveness of the local workforce and support economic vitality in Contra Costa County.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

The Workforce Development Board of Contra Costa may not be able to conduct routine business.
