RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #76-561-1 with Xingbo Sun, M.D., an individual, effective July 1, 2017, to amend Contract #76-561, to increase the payment limit by $30,000, from $190,000 to a new payment limit of $220,000, with no change in the original term of October 1, 2016 through September 30, 2017.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This amendment is funded 100% Hospital Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

On October 18, 2016, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #76-561 with Xingbo Sun, M.D., for the provision of podiatry services, including, but not limited to: consultation, clinic coverage, training, and medical/surgical procedures for the period from October 1, 2016 through September 30, 2017. At the time of negotiations, the payment limit was based on target levels of utilization. However, the utilization during the term of the agreement was higher than originally anticipated.

Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #76-561-1 will allow the Contractor to provide additional hours of podiatry services through September 30, 2017.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this amendment is not approved, patients requiring podiatry services at CCRMC will not have access to Contractor’s services.
