RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Extension Agreement #26-781-4 with Serramonte Pulmonary Asthma & Sleep Clinic, a corporation, for the provision of pulmonary services at Contra Costa Regional Medical and Health Centers (CCRMC), with no change in the payment limit of $200,000, to extend the termination date from August 31, 2017 to December 31, 2017.

FISCAL IMPACT:

None, there is no change in the Contract Payment Limit of $200,000. This Contract is funded 100% Hospital Enterprise Fund I.

BACKGROUND:

On August 16, 2016, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-781-3, with Serramonte Pulmonary Asthma & Sleep Clinic, for the provision of pulmonary services, including, but not limited to: clinic coverage, consultation, on-call coverage, training and medical procedures at CCRMC, for the period from September 1, 2016 through August 31, 2017.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

Approval of Contract Extension Agreement #26-781-4 will allow the Contractor to continue providing pulmonary services through December 31, 2017.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this extension is not approved, patients requiring pulmonary services will not have access to Contactor’s services.
