This Contract includes a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2018, in an amount not to exceed $79,568.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 50% Federal Medi-Cal and 50% Mental Health Realignment. (3% Cost of Living Adjustment)

BACKGROUND:

This Contract meets the social needs of County’s population by providing residential day treatment services including: rehabilitative day treatment, medication support, and mental health services to Medi-Cal eligible, SED adolescents.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

On July 12, 2016, the Board of Supervisors approved Novation Contract #74-031-22 with Summitview Child and Family Services, Inc., for the period from July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017, which included a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2017, for the provision of rehabilitative day treatment, medication support and mental health treatment.

Approval of Novation Contract #74-031-23 replaces the automatic extension under the prior Contract and allows the Contractor to continue providing services, through June 30, 2018.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, SED children will not have access to Contractor’s services and may require higher levels of care.

CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:

This program supports the following Board of Supervisors’ community outcomes: “Children Ready For and Succeeding in School”; “Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing”; and “Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families”. Expected program outcomes include an increase in positive social and emotional development as measured by the Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale (CAFAS).
