RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #27-589-10 with Night Owl Pediatrics (dba Night Owl Urgent Care), a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $2,000,000, to provide urgent care and pediatric primary care services for Contra Costa Health Plan (CCHP) members for the period from July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2019.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% by Contra Costa Health Plan Enterprise fund II. (No Rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

On June 9, 2015, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #27-589-8 (as amended by Contract Amendment Agreement #27-589-9) with Night Owl Pediatrics, Inc., for the period from July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2017 for the provision of pediatric primary care and urgent care services to CCHP members.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

Approval of Contract #27-589-10 will allow Contractor to continue providing pediatric primary care and urgent care services through June 30, 2019.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, certain specialized professional health care services for its members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts with the County will not be provided.
