RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #26-718-2 with The Wright Institute, a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed $1,545,000, for the provision of behavioral health services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers (CCRMC), for the period from July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% Hospital Enterprise Fund I. (Rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

On July 29, 2014, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-718-1 with The Wright Institute for the provision of behavioral health services to patients at CCRMC, including consultation to primary care providers, short term interventions, individual and group therapy sessions, and psychopharmacologic consultations, for the period from July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2017.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

Approval of Contract #26-718-2 will allow the Contractor to continue providing behavioral health services, through June 30, 2018.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this Contract is not approved, patients requiring behavioral health services would not have access to Contractor’s services.
