RECOMMENDATION(S):
ADOPT Resolution No. 2016/466 approving the Side Letter between Contra Costa County and the Deputy Sheriffs Association regarding initial assignment.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The modification to initial staffing is an administrative change with no fiscal impact.
BACKGROUND:
The County and the Deputy Sheriffs Association (DSA) agree to modify Section 20.2.e of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Contra Costa County and the Deputy Sheriffs Association. In summary the modification allows newly hired Deputy Sheriffs to be assigned to the Patrol Division or the Custody Services Bureau based upon Academy Rank.
