RECOMMENDATION(S):

ACCEPT the resignation of Janet Kennedy, DECLARE vacant Community Member Seat 3 on the Contra Costa Council on Homelessness, and DIRECT the Clerk of the Board to post the vacancy, as recommended by the County Administrator.

FISCAL IMPACT:

None

BACKGROUND:

The Contra Costa Council on Homelessness (CoH) was established on March 11, 2008, combining the efforts of the Contra Costa County Homeless Continuum of Care Board and the Council on Homelessness. CoH is charged with providing a forum for communication and coordination about the overall implementation of the Ten Year Plan to End Homelessness and providing advice and input on the operations of homeless services. CoHmeets on a regular basis to discuss issues surrounding homelessness throughout the County and is made up of representatives from city and county government, health care, law enforcement, service providers and consumers. The Council membership includes two seats representing County government.

The term expiration date for the Community Member Seat 3 is December 31, 2016.  

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

An important seat on the Council on Homelessness will remain vacant
