RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #25–049–13 with Anka Behavioral Health, Inc., a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed $571,101, to provide housing assistance services for the County’s Homeless Program, for the period from July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) McKinney-Vento Grant. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

This Contract meets the social needs of County’s population by providing support services to County residents that are homeless and have a diagnosis of mental illness or a dual-diagnosis of mental illness and substance abuse.

On October 6, 2015, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #25–049–12 with Anka Behavioral Health, Incorporated, for the period from July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016, for the provision of housing assistance services.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

Approval of Contract #25–049–13 will allow the Contractor to continue providing services through June 30, 2017.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, homeless residents of Contra Costa County will not receive the housing assistance services provided by Contractor.
