RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #26-352-12 with Delta Personnel Services (dba Delta Security Agency), effective May 16, 2016, to amend Contract #26-352-11, to increase the payment limit by $100,000, from $99,000 to a new payment limit of $199,000, with no change in the original term of January 1, 2016 through December 31, 2016.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This amendment is funded 100% Hospital Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

In December 2015, the County Administrator approved and the Purchasing Services Manager executed Contract #26-352-11 with Delta Personnel Services (dba Delta Security Agency) for the provision of security guard services at six county facilities, including Contra Costa Regional Medical Center, Brentwood Health Center and North Richmond Health Center. At the time of negotiations, the payment limit was based on target levels of utilization. However, the utilization during the term of the agreement was higher than originally anticipated due to services being provided at three additional County Health Centers including Bay Point, Pittsburg and West County Health Centers.

Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #26-352-12 will allow the Contractor to provide security guard services at additional County Health Centers through December 31, 2016.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this amendment is not approved, patients requiring security guard services will not have access to Contractor’s services.
