RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Fleet Services manager, on behalf of the Health Services Department, to purchase a new police car, in the amount of $47,322.76 for the Sheriff’s Deputy at the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) and the Contra Costa Health Centers.

FISCAL IMPACT:

100% funding is included in the Hospital Enterprise Fund I Budget.

BACKGROUND:

Health Services has started a Roving Deputy Program for the CCRMC and the Contra Costa Health Centers. This is to ensure the safety of staff and patients. A car is necessary for the deputies to respond quickly to emergencies.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this Purchase is not approved the deputies will be unable to respond quickly to emergencies.
