RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #26-755-4 with Brown Miller Communications, Inc., a corporation, effective May 1, 2016 to amend Contract #26-755-2, to increase the payment limit by $45,000 from $95,000, to a new payment limit of $140,000, with no change in the original term of September 1, 2015 through August 31, 2016.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Amendment is funded 100% Hospital Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

In September 2015, the County Administrator approved and the Purchasing Services Manager executed Contract #26-755-2 with Brown Miller Communications, Inc. for the provision of consulting and technical assistance to develop a strategic plan on the Affordable Care Act for the period from September 1, 2015 through August 31, 2016.  
  


BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #26-755-4 will allow the Contractor to provide additional hours of services with regard to the new waiver and the improvement summit series supporting strategic planning Department-wide through August 31, 2016.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this amendment is not approved, the Contractor will not be able to provide additional consulting and technical assistance to the Department.
