RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 21880 to add one (1) Chief Accountant (SAGC) (unrepresented) position, at salary plan and grade B82 1841 ($7,384 - $8,997), one (1) Account Clerk-Experienced Level (JDVC) (represented) position at salary plan and grade 3RH 0755 ($3,070 - $3,805), and cancel one (1) Information Systems Auditor (LWTA) (represented) vacant position #186, at salary level ZB5 1787 ($6,530 - $7,937), in the Auditor Controller's Office.  

FISCAL IMPACT:

An annual general fund cost of $96,000, which includes approximately $11,000 related to pension costs.








BACKGROUND:

The Office of the Auditor-Controller is requesting to cancel one Information Systems Auditor position and add one Chief Accountant position to manage the operations of the Payroll division. This action will ensure that the current and future operations of the Office are properly managed and is consistent with the overall succession plan of the Auditor-Controller. The Office of the Auditor-Controller also is requesting to add one Account Clerk-Experienced Level position. This position will be assigned to the Accounts Payable unit to process contract and vendor invoices, and employee demands. The workload warrants an additional position and is necessary to ensure the proper review and payment of invoices and demands. This action also will allow the termination of a temporary contract employee assigned to the unit.  

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this action is not approved, the Auditor Controller's Office will not have the appropriate staffing levels to properly manage the Payroll division and will result in insufficient staffing resources assigned to the Accounts Payable unit.
