RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County, Contract Extension Agreement #27-277-19 with Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc., a non-profit corporation, to extend the termination date from June 30, 2016 to September 30, 2016, with no change in the Contract Payment Limit of $150,000,000.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% Contra Costa Health Plan Enterprise Fund II. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

On September 15, 2015, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #27-277-18, with Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc., for the provision of health care services for Medi-Cal recipients enrolled in the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, for the period from July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

Approval of Contract Extension Agreement #27-277-19 will allow the Contractor to continue providing health care services for Medi-Cal recipients enrolled in the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan through September 30, 2016.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this extension is not approved, Contractor will not continue to provide health care services for Medi-Cal members enrolled in the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan.
