RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Resolution No. 2015/265 to grant an exemption to Contra Costa County Salary Regulations Section 4.1, and adjust the salary step of the incumbent in the classification of EHS Division Manager (XADD), position number 4969, from step six to step seven of salary range ZA2 1841 ($7,097.66 - $8,647.81) effective May 7, 2015, as requested by the Employment and Human Services Director and recommended by the County Administrator.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Upon approval, this action will result in an increased annual cost of approximately $3,369 including additional pension costs of approximately $819. Funding for this increase is 45% Federal, 45% State and 10% County.

BACKGROUND:

The incumbent was recently promoted to the classification of EHS Division Manager. Prior to her promotion, she was performing the duties of the EHS Division Manager in a temporary upgrade assignment.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If the recommended action is not approved, the Department will not be able to appropriately compensate the incumbent.
