RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Extension Agreement #26-341-5 with Regents of the University of California on behalf of the University of California, San Francisco, an educational institution, to extend the term from June 30, 2015 through June 30, 2020.

FISCAL IMPACT:

None.

BACKGROUND:

On July 12, 2005, the Board of Supervisors approved Unpaid Student Training Agreement #26-341-3 and on April 22, 2008 extended the term with Regents of the University of California, on behalf of University of California, San Francisco for the period from July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2015 to provide supervised fieldwork instruction experience with Health Services. Approval of Contract Extension Agreement # 26-341-5 will allow the Contractor’s students to continue to receive supervised fieldwork instruction experience, at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers through June 30, 2020.



CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this extension is not approved, the students will not continue to receive supervised fieldwork instruction experience at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers.
