RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #23-538-3 with TEK Systems, Inc., a corporation, effective July 1, 2015, to amend Contract #23-538 (as amended by Amendment/Extensions #23-538-1 and #23-538-2), to increase the payment limit by $500,000, from $1,470,000 to a new payment limit of $1,970,000, with no change in the original term from March 1, 2013 through June 30, 2016.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This amendment/extension is funded 100% by Hospital Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

In May 2013, the County Administrator approved and the Purchasing Services Manager executed Contract #23-538 (as amended by Contract Amendment/Extension Agreements #23-538-1 and #23-538-2) with TEK Systems, Inc. for the provision of qualified contract-to-hire and/or direct placement candidates for hard to fill positions in the Health Services Department’s Information Systems Unit, for the period from March 1, 2013 through June 30, 2016.

Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #23-538-3 will allow the Contractor to provide additional contract-to-hire or direct placement candidates through June 30, 2016.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this amendment is not approved, the Division will not have access to Contractor’s staffing services for hard to fill positions in the Department’s Information Systems Unit.
