RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 21704 to add one (1) Licensed Vocational Nurse (VT7G) position ($3,854-$4,922) in the Contra Costa Health Plan division of the Health Services Department.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Upon approval, this action will cost approximately $99,967 annually with benefits, including pension costs of $20,970. The costs will be funded by CCHP Enterprise Fund II (100%).

BACKGROUND:

CCHP's Advice Nurse unit has received an increase in calls due to the closure of Doctor's Medical Center. The unit is also receiving additional after hours calls from Kaiser Richmond to assist with hospital discharges and after hours authorizations of Durable Medical Equipment (DME).

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this action is not approved and without additional staff, Contra Costa Health Plan's Advice Nurse unit will not have adequate staffing to meet the mandated requirements of the Plan.
