RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Chair, Board of Supervisors, to execute, on behalf of the County, an agreement with the State of California, Department of Transportation (Caltrans) to receive $100,000 in state matching funds for transportation purposes during the period July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022, as recommended by the Public Works Director, Countywide.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This agreement will authorize the County to receive the amount of $100,000 from the State Matching fund program. (100% Local Road Funds)

BACKGROUND:

The Federal Apportionment State Match Program Agreement No. X22-5928(164) specifies that Caltrans agrees to pay the County $100,000 from the unobligated balance of its State Matching monies for Fiscal Year 2021/2022. The money must be used for transportation purposes in accordance with Article XIX of the California State Constitution.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Failure to approve this agreement will eliminate a potential funding source.
