RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the County Probation Officer, or designee, to execute an Interagency Agreement with the Contra Costa County Office of Education, in an amount not to exceed $144,892 to provide Juvenile Reentry educational and career services for the period July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022.

FISCAL IMPACT:

100% General Fund.

BACKGROUND:

Contra Costa County Office of Education provides graduate educational programming and Juvenile Reentry educational and career services in East County to youth who will be released from the Youthful Offender Treatment Program and the Girls in Motion Program at the Juvenile Hall, and the Orin Allen Youth Rehabilitative Facility. The Contra Costa County Office of Education also coordinates these services with our community service providers in the Central and West County.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Without this contract, the educational and career services will not be available to the youth in the East County.

CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:

This action supports four of the five community outcomes set forth in the Children’s Report Card.
