RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County Contract Amendment Agreement #27-204-11 with Comprehensive Psychiatric Services, A Medical Group, a corporation, to amend Contract #27-204-10, effective June 1, 2021, to increase the payment limit by $125,000, from $250,000 to a new payment limit of $375,000, with no change in the original term of June 1, 2020 through May 31, 2022, to provide additional psychiatric services for Medi-Cal members in addition to commercial Contra Costa Health Plan (CCHP) members.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This amendment will result in additional contractual expenditures of $125,000 and will be funded 100% by CCHP Enterprise Fund II revenues. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

CCHP has an obligation to provide certain specialized health care services for its members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts with the County. This contractor has been a part of the CCHP Provider Network since July of 1996, providing psychiatric services.

On March 31, 2020, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #27-204-10 with Comprehensive Psychiatric Services, A Medical Group, in an amount of $250,000, to provide psychiatric services for commercial CCHP members only, for the period June 1, 2020 through May 31, 2022.

Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #27-204-11 will allow this contractor to continue to provide additional psychiatric services to Medi-Cal members in addition to commercial CCHP members through May 31, 2022.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this amendment is not approved, certain specialized health care services for CCHP members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contract with the County will not be provided.
