RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, to execute, on behalf of the Public Works Director, a purchase order with The Garland Company, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $1,500,000 for roofing and waterproofing supplies, for the period June 8, 2021 through May 31, 2023, Countywide.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Facilities Maintenance Budget. (100% General Fund)

BACKGROUND:

Public Works Facilities Maintenance is responsible for roofing repairs and maintenance. The Garland Company, Inc., can offer the County custom roofing and waterproofing supplies utilizing California Multiple Award Schedule (CMAS) pricing. Utilizing this type of government pricing guarantees Public Works fair pricing and exceptional delivery service for roofing and waterproofing supplies. The most recent purchase order with The Garland Company, Inc., expired on February 28, 2021. Public Works is requesting this purchase order be approved for a period covering the next two years.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this purchase order is not approved, roofing and waterproofing supplies from The Garland Company, Inc., will be discontinued.
