RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute Contract #76-592-3 with Maxim Healthcare Services, Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $800,000, to provide temporary medical staffing services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) and Contra Costa Health Centers for the period July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This contract is funded 100% by Hospital Enterprise Fund I. (Rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

On July 23, 2019, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #76-592-2 with Maxim Healthcare Services, Inc., to provide temporary nursing and other categories of medical services to cover employee sick leaves, vacations and workers compensation leaves, at CCRMC and Contra Costa Health Centers for the period July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

Approval of Contract #76-592-3 will allow the Contractor to continue providing temporary respiratory nurses and other medical staff through June 30, 2021.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, County will not have access to Contractor’s temporary medical staffing services.
