RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Chief Information Officer, Department of Information Technology, or designee, to execute a contract with the City of Vallejo to permit the County Department of Information Technology (DoIT) to provide radio communications programming and maintenance services to the City of Vallejo at the rate of $134.40 per hour plus the cost of any materials and equipment for the period April 20, 2020, until terminated.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Revenue for the Telecommunications Division of the Department of Information Technology. (100% General Fund)

BACKGROUND:

DoIT’s Telecommunications Division will provide the City of Vallejo with professional telecommunications and related services. Upon request, DoIT will provide radio programming and maintenance services for the City of Vallejo’s radio equipment and service dispatch consoles at the rate of $134.40 per hour, which may be adjusted each fiscal year, plus the cost of any materials and required equipment. County has the right under the agreement to adjust the hourly rates on an annual basis based on its costs to provide the Services, and City can agree to the increased rates, or terminate the agreement.   
  
Under the agreement, the County is obligated to defend and indemnify the City of third-party claims arising out of County’s negligent acts in performing the Agreement, except

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this agreement is not approved, the Telecommunications Division will not receive revenue.
