RECOMMENDATION(S):
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Office of the Sheriff, to execute a purchase order with LDV-Custom Specialty Vehicles in an amount not to exceed $275,000 for the purchase of (1) 2019 or 2020 Ford F550 Logistics Support Vehicle.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$275,000 2017-2018 State Homeland Security Grant Program.
BACKGROUND:
The Office of the Sheriff, Emergency Services Division needs to replace its existing 2004 Ford E-350 Logistics Support Vehicle (5742) that has exceeded its useful life and is fully depreciated. The replacement vehicle will be a custom built platform designed to carry and transport critical incident command and field operations equipment. This vehicle responds to critical events locally and through mutual aid including Search and Rescue, County Mobile Field Force, wildfires, PSPS events and other critical law enforcement events and disaster responses. This vehicle will carry mobile communications, copiers, large format plotters, portable generators, office equipment and sheltering supplies to maintain field incident command posts. This vehicle is a replacement vehicle and is fully grant funded and has no fiscal impact on the County general funds.
