RECOMMENDATION(S):

ACCEPT resignation of Michael Syrett, DECLARE a vacancy in City of Oakley Local Committee Seat on the Advisory Council on Aging, and Direct the Clerk of the Board to post the vacancy, as recommended by the Employment and Human Service Department Director.

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no fiscal impact.

BACKGROUND:

Michael Syrett was appointed to the Advisory Council on Aging, City of Oakley Committee seat November 5, 2019. The seat expires September 30, 2021. Mr. Syrett submitted his resignation due to employment commitments limiting his ability to attend future meetings.  
  





BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
The Advisory Council on Aging (Council) provides a means for countywide planning, cooperation, and coordination for individuals and groups interested in improving and developing services and opportunities for the older residents of the County. The Council provides leadership and advocacy on behalf of older persons as a channel of communication and information on aging.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

The Advisory Council on Aging may not be able to carry out routine business.
