RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County Contract #74–190–21 with Mental Health Management I, Inc. (dba Canyon Manor), a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $247,069, to provide mental health subacute care and treatment services for adults, for the period from July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% by Mental Health Realignment funds. (Rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

This Contract meets the social needs of County’s population in that it provides long-term care for adults with serious mental illness who require skilled nursing inpatient psychiatric care.

On July 9, 2019, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #74–190–20 with Mental Health Management I, Inc. (dba Canyon Manor), to provide mental health sub-acute care and treatment services for the period from July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020.

Approval of Contract #74–190–21 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide services through June 30, 2021.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, County residents will not receive any mental health subacute care and treatment services provided by this Contractor.
