RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with Tri-City Power Inc., to extend the term from June 30, 2020 to June 30, 2021, to provide On-Call Electrical Services for various County facilities, with no change to the payment limit of $600,000, Countywide.

FISCAL IMPACT:

100% General Fund

BACKGROUND:

Tri-City Power Inc., provides maintenance and repair service of the County's Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS). UPS systems assure the facility will have electricity when PG&E electricity is disrupted and helps maintain power until the backup generator turns on. This contract is due to expire on June 30, 2020.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

The Public Works Department is requesting authorization to extend this contract one additional year to assure UPS systems and services, while conducting a formal solicitation for new on-call electrical services contracts. The process for formal solicitation to fully executed contract(s) is currently approximately 6 to 8 months.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this amendment is not approved, electrical services with Tri-City Power Inc., will be discontinued.
