RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to issue a written notice to Anka Behavioral Health, Incorporated, a non-profit corporation, to terminate Novation Contract #74-505-3, to provide mental health and support to adults with serious and persistent mental illness in Central Contra Costa County, effective at the close of business on May 31, 2019.

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no fiscal impact. This Contract was funded by 38% Mental Health Services Act and 62% Federal Medi-Cal.

BACKGROUND:

On April 30, 2019, Anka Behavioral Health, Incorporated filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy. In early May, Anka advised the Health Services Department that it would stop providing services on close of business May 31, 2019.

Approval by the Board of Supervisors will allow the Health Services Department to issue notice to the Contractor, in accordance with General Conditions, Paragraph 5. (Termination) that the Contract is terminated effective at the close of business on May 31, 2019.
