RECOMMENDATION(S):
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to submit to the California Department of Community Services and Development the County's 2020-2021 Community Action Plan to ameliorate poverty and increase self-sufficiency efforts for impacted Contra Costa County residents.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no direct fiscal impact. The State of California will prepare and distribute a Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) contract for Contra Costa County once the State receives notice of its 2020 allocation.
BACKGROUND:
The 2020-21 Community Action Plan (CAP) was developed with input from Contra Costa County residents, Department staff and clients along with the County's Economic Opportunity Council (EOC). The EOC reviewed and approved the CAP at its regular meeting, on June 13, 2019.
