RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with Harris & Associates, Inc., effective August 31, 2019, to extend the term from August 31, 2019 to December 31, 2019, with no change to the original payment limit of $250,000 for continued on-call municipal services, Countywide.

FISCAL IMPACT:

100% Various Public Works Funds

BACKGROUND:

After a solicitation process, Harris and Associates was selected as one of three firms to provide municipal services. The Consultant will augment the Public Works staff on an as-needed basis. The Board approved the original contract with Harris and Associates on August 8, 2017 to provide specialty skills, such as street light design services, that are not found among Public Works staff.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

This amendment extending the term will allow Public Works to complete a late emerging project.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If the contract is not approved, necessary projects in the Special Districts Section may not be completed in a timely manner.
