RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with Park Engineering, Inc., effective August 31, 2019, to extend the term from August 31, 2019 to August 31, 2020, with no change to the original payment limit of $250,000 for continued on-call municipal services, Countywide.

FISCAL IMPACT:

100% Various Public Works Funds

BACKGROUND:

After a solicitation process, Park Engineering, Inc. was selected as one of three firms to provide municipal services. The contractor will augment the Public Works staff on an as-needed basis. The Board approved the original contract with Park Engineering, Inc. on August 8, 2017, to provide specialty skills, such as installation of irrigation systems, that are not found among Public Works staff. This amendment extending the term will allow us to complete an on-going project that was delayed by lengthy utility coordination.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If the contract is not approved, necessary projects in the Special Districts Section may not be completed in a timely manner.
