RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County, Novation Contract #28-644-17 with Golden Rain Foundation of Walnut Creek, a non-profit corporation, to pay County an amount not to exceed $11,500, to provide congregate meal services for County’s Senior Nutrition Program, for the period from July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019, which includes a includes a three-month automatic extension through September 30, 2019, in an amount not to exceed $2,875.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Contractor will pay County the net project income received from participants. No County funds required.

BACKGROUND:

On June 20, 2017, the Board of Supervisors approved Novation Contract #28-644-16 with Golden Rain Foundation of Walnut Creek to provide congregate meal services for County’s Senior Nutrition Program for the period from July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018, which included a three-month automatic extension through September 30, 2018.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

Approval of Novation Contract #28-644-17 replaces the automatic extension under the prior contract and allows the agency to continue providing services through June 30, 2019.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, County’s senior citizens will not receive Senior Nutrition Program meals from this agency.
