ADOPT Resolution No. 2018/220 authorizing the Sheriff-Coroner, or designee, to apply for and accept a U.S. Department of Homeland Security, 2018 Port Security Grant, in an initial amount of $17,866 for equipment, maintenance and services for the period September 1, 2018 through August 31, 2021.
FISCAL IMPACT:
An initial amount of $13,399 in Federal Revenue. The County would be responsible for an initial match of $4,467 (25%). CFDA#97.056.
BACKGROUND:
The Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff is requesting funds for the repair of a water monitor firefighting pump on one of its patrol vessels. The vessel is responsible for patrolling over 200 miles of coastline in Contra Costa County. This coastline contains a wide variety of critical infrastructure sites along the waterfront including chemical facilities, oil refineries, water and power plants, and other facilities with toxic industrial chemical/materials that contribute to an environment with the potential for mass casualty incidents and a need for waterside firefighting capabilities.
