RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute Contract Amendment No. 1 to the Consulting Services Agreement (CSA) with BSK Associates (BSK), effective June 12, 2018, to change the termination date from July 7, 2018 to December 31, 2018, with no change to the original payment limit of $150,000, for on-call materials testing and inspection services, Countywide area. (Project No. Various) (All Districts)

No Fiscal Impact

BACKGROUND:

The Public Works Director executed a Consulting Services Agreement, dated July 7, 2015, with BSK for on-call materials testing and inspection services.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

The County does not have materials testing and inspection capabilities and will not be able to get new contracts in place before the termination of existing CSAs.

Proposed Amendment No. 1 will amend the termination date from July 7, 2018 to December 31, 2018.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

The County would not have materials testing and inspections services required for various project under construction. This would delay various projects and Federal funds would be in jeopardy.
