RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County, Contract #26-684-7 with Epic Care, a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $2,311,400 to provide oncology and hematology services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) and Health Centers for the period July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2021.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Contract is funded 100% by Hospital Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

On August 18, 2015, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-684-5 with East Bay Medical Oncology/Hematology Medical Associates, Inc. (dba Epic Care) now known as Epic Care, as amended by Assignment Agreement #26-684-6 to provide oncology and hematology services at CCRMC and Health Centers for the period July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2018.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

Approval of Contract #26-684-7 will allow Epic Care to continue to provide oncology and hematology services at CCRMC and Health Centers through June 30, 2021.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, patients requiring oncology and hematology services at CCRMC and Health Centers will not have access to the contractor’s services.
