RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County, Agreement #28-372 with the City of Richmond for its Police Department, a government agency, to pay the County an amount not to exceed $7,683 to provide homeless outreach services for the Coordinated Outreach, Referral and Engagement (CORE) Program, for the period from May 15, 2018 through June 30, 2018.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Approval of this agreement will allow the County to receive an amount not to exceed $7,683 from the Richmond Police Department to provide homeless outreach services. No County match is required.

BACKGROUND:

The CORE Program services locate and engage homeless clients throughout Contra Costa County. CORE teams serve as an entry point into the County’s coordinated entry system for unsheltered persons and work to locate, engage, stabilize and house chronically homeless individuals and families.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

Approval of Agreement #28-372 will allow the County to continue operating CORE and providing services through June 30, 2018. The County is agreeing to indemnify and hold harmless the contractor for claims arising out of County’s performance under this contract.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this agreement is not approved, the County will not receive funding and without such funding, the CORE program may have to operate at a reduced capacity.
