RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Resolution No. 2018/199 recognizing June 1 - June 7, 2018 as National Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillation (AED) Awareness Week.

BACKGROUND:

June 1 - June 7, 2018 is “National Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillation (AED) Awareness Week.” This resolution encourages: all residents of Contra Costa County to learn critical lifesaving skills such as CPR and how to use an AED; communities to become HeartSafe Communities; and businesses and other organizations to register their AED(s) and mark them “public” - identify AED Responders and agree to respond to victims of sudden cardiac arrests in locations near them.
