RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and ACKNOWLEDGE that, by its terms, the contract between the County and Emily Watters, M.D., pertaining to outpatient psychiatric care services to mentally ill adults and initially approved by the Board on April 24, 2018 (Item C.49), does not have a maximum annual payment limit of $174,720 as specified in the Board action but, instead, has a maximum annual payment limit $209,664.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This contract is funded 100% by Mental Health Realignment funds. (Rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

For a number of years the County has contracted with medical, dental and mental health specialists to provide specialized professional services, which are not otherwise available.

The purpose of this Board Order is to reflect the original intent of the Department by correcting the payment limit amount to $209,664 instead of $174,720, due to a 20% rate increase for psychiatrists through July 31, 2019.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, County’s clients will not have access to the contractor’s psychiatric services.
