RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 22287 to add one permanent Mental Health Clinical Specialist position (VQSB) at salary plan and grade TC2-1384 ($4,835-$7,178) in the Health Services Department. (Represented)

FISCAL IMPACT:

Annual cost of this position is approximately $141,568, with pension costs of $30,581 included. The cost is 100% offset by Mental Health Realignment funds.

BACKGROUND:

The Health Services Department is requesting to add one Mental Health Clinical Specialist position to the Transition Team in the Behavioral Health Division. The Transition Team provides short-term intensive case management services and linkage to ongoing services for mentally ill adults. This additional position is necessary to more efficiently process the patient referrals that are received. Duties of the position include conducting assessments, providing consultations and referrals, providing clinical support during transitions between levels of care, providing short-term clinical case management services, and problem focused psychotherapy.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Failure to approve this request will negatively impact the ability of the Behavioral Health Division to provide efficient services to the community.
