RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 22097 to:

1. Add one (1) Sheriff’s Chief of Management Services-Exempt (APD2) (unrepresented) position) to the Sheriff’s Office - Administrative Services Division;

2. transition employee # 56006 from position #2497;

RECOMMENDATION(S): (CONT'D)
3. cancel one (1) Sheriff's Chief of Management Services (APDC) (unrepresented) position #2497; and,
4. abolish the classification of Sheriff's Chief of Management Services (APDC).

FISCAL IMPACT:

An annual increase of $15,942, of which $3,684 is attributable to employer pension cost . 100% General Fund.

BACKGROUND:

The Sheriff's Chief of Management Services-Exempt classification was established on March 21, 2017 (P-300 No. 22029). Subsequently, the Board approved Ordinance No. 2017-04 on April 25, 2017 making the newly established classification exempt from the merit system effective 30 days following its passage.

Today's action creates a new position using the newly established Sheriff's Chief of Management Services-Exempt classification, transitions the employee in the current Sheriff's Chief of Management Services position, cancels the resulting vacant position and abolishes the legacy classification.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

The planned transition of an incumbent from the current classification of Sheriff's Chief of Management Services to the Sheriff's Chief of Management Servicies - Exempt will not occur.

CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:

No Impact
