RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, on behalf of the Public Works Director, to execute a a purchase order with Hermann Equipment Inc., in an amount not to exceed $315,000, for the purchase of an Etnyre Self-Propelled Chip Spreader for Public Works road maintenance, Countywide.

FISCAL IMPACT:

100% Local Road Funds.

BACKGROUND:

To be used for chip seal operations throughout the County. This purchase is to replace an existing vehicle in the road maintenance fleet that has been removed from service and will be disposed of because it is beyond economical repair.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Negative action would result in the inability to effectively provide routine maintenance to perform chip seal operations on County roads.
