RECOMMENDATION(S):

Adopt Resolution No. 2017/200 recognizing June 1 - June 7, 2017 as National Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillation (AED) Awareness Week.

BACKGROUND:

June 1-June 7, 2017 is “National Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillation (AED) Awareness Week.” This resolution will encourage all residents of Contra Costa County to learn critical lifesaving skills such as CPR and how to use an AED, as well as encourage communities to become HeartSafe Communities and businesses and other organizations to register their AED(s), mark them “public” - identify AED Responders and agree to respond to victims of sudden cardiac arrests in locations near them.
