RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 22079 to cancel one (1) vacant Network Administrator II (LNSB) (represented) in salary plan and grade ZA5 1787 ($6,791.81 - $8,255.49) position no. 988 and add one (1) full-time Network Administrator I (LNSA) (represented) in salary plan and grade ZA5 1694 ($6,194.33 - $7,529.25) in the Department of Conservation and Development.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This action will result in an annual salary savings of approximately $9,000, of which approximately $3,000 represent pension cost savings. Funding for this position will come 100% from Land Development funds.

BACKGROUND:

The Department of Conservation and Development (DCD) is seeking approval to cancel its vacant Network Administrator II position and add a Network Administrator I position. The class of Network Administrator is not flexibly staffed, so the downgrade of the existing Network Administrator II position in DCD will require Board approval. Network Administrator I is the first level in the Network Administrator series. DCD would like to fill its Network Administrator vacancy at the entry level.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Failure to obtain Board Order will impede the Department's ability to hire Information technology staff at the appropriate level.
