RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment/Extension Agreement #26-749-2 with Stanford Health Care, a non-profit corporation, to increase the payment limit by $30,000 from $15,000 to a new payment limit of $45,000 for the provision of outside clinical laboratory services to extend the term from June 30, 2016 to June 30, 2018.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This amendment is funded 100% Hospital Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

On October 13, 2015, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-749-1, with Stanford Health Care, for the provision of outside clinical laboratory services, for the period from July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

Approval of Amendment/Extension Agreement #26-749-2 will allow the Contractor to continue providing outside clinical laboratory services through June 30, 2018. This contract includes mutual indemnification.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this extension is not approved, Contractor will not continue to provide services.
