RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #23-538-4 with TEK Systems, Inc., a corporation, effective March 1, 2016 to amend Contract #23-538 (as amended by Amendment Agreements #23-538-1 through #23-538-3), to increase the payment limit by $830,000 from $1,970,000 to a new payment limit of $2,800,000 with no change in the original term from March 1, 2013 through June 30, 2016.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This amendment is funded 100% by Hospital Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

In May 2013, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #23-538 (as amended by Amendment Agreements #23-538-1 through #23-538-3) with TEK Systems, Inc. for the provision of qualified contract-to-hire and/or direct placement candidates for hard to fill positions in the Health Services Department’s Information Systems Unit, for the period from March 1, 2013 through June 30, 2016.  

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
  
The department has been utilizing the contractor's services more than anticipated and will continue to needs increased services through the end of the current contract term. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #23-538-4 will allow the Contractor to provide additional contract-to-hire or direct placement candidates through June 30, 2016.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this amendment is not approved, the Division will not have access to Contractor’s staffing services for hard to fill positions in the Department’s Information Systems Unit.
