RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with Willdan Engineering, effective June 21, 2016, to increase the payment limit by $50,000 to a new payment limit of $250,000 for additional necessary work related to land development cost recovery, with no change to the original term, Countywide.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Cost is to be funded through Developer fees, Road, Flood Control and Special Districts funds.

BACKGROUND:

The Public Works Department is involved in the review of land development projects throughout the County. As part of this regular work, consultant services are required to augment staff and provide special technical assistance on an on-call basis.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
On September 14, 2014, the Board of Supervisors approved the Consulting Services Agreement with Willdan Engineering to provide services include researching, writing, reviewing and preparing conditions of approval for land development entitlements, as well as plan checking for conditions of approval compliance. The additional funds requested in this amendment are to fund additional work related to cost recovery.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Without the approval of the Board of Supervisors, the Public Works Department will be unable to fully recover costs associated with land development and other engineering projects in a timely manner, potentially increasing the cost for current and future projects.
